私は京都大学の科学研究生としてイギリスから来ました。私は受講生の皆様に、より効果的に英語が使いこなせるよう指導しています。私は日本語を少し勉強しましたので、受講生の皆様のやりがい、皆様が英会話の上達に必要なものも理解しています。KECで指導することにより、受講生の皆様の挑戦を手助けし、達成感を感じる機会をいただいています。

I moved to Japan from the UK to train as a research scientist at Kyoto University. My position informally required helping students and colleagues communicate more effectively in written and spoken academic English. Having studied Japanese briefly myself, I understand the challenges students face; and what they need to improve. Teaching part-time at KEC has given me a chance to apply my philosophy and help students overcome these challenges.

I present my lessons in a casual, clear, and flexible style. This environment I believe encourages students to gain confidence and feel comfortable enough to thrive. Regardless of the purpose of studying English, I often encourage students to develop a genuine interest in the process and more importantly, engage with the teacher. Always ask questions!
